Pioneering Comfort with a 3D-Printed Chamois

Elastic Interface was one of the first suppliers I reached out to in 2023. If you're unfamiliar with them, chances are you've already experienced their Italian craftsmanship. They command about 80% of the premium bib short chamois (seat pad) market. They are, without a doubt, the kings of comfort.

When I shared my personal cycling history and vision for Vanta Cycling, they introduced me to a groundbreaking innovation they were working on: the world’s first 3D-printed chamois. At the time, it was still in the final stages of development and not yet available for bulk orders. Naturally, I jumped at the chance to test a sample, and about a year ago, I was fortunate enough to ride with it for the first time.

I tested the 3D-printed chamois alongside some of their top-of-the-line seat pads, and the difference was nothing short of incredible. What did it feel like? Like nothing was there. To me, that’s the ultimate goal when it comes to cycling apparel and gear, comfort so perfect that it disappears beneath you.

Since bulk orders weren’t ready at the time, I continued developing my bib shorts with some of Elastic Interface's other premium pads. When we were close to finalizing the design, I paused the entire process for a few months, waiting to be among the first to order this revolutionary seat pad. It was that good, I couldn’t imagine making my bibs without it.
