Back in January, I was out on a ride with my friend Ed Sweet, talking about how I wanted to get a few retail partners on board. Wholesale had always been part of the plan from the very beginning of Vanta, and I had a shortlist of shops in mind around the Bay Area and Los Angeles. For San Francisco, Pink Puffin stood out as the ideal shop, I felt like it aligned best with the brand.

Ed listened and then casually said, "I know Phillip, the owner of Pink Puffin. He’s a great guy.” Then he hit me with, “Want to ride over right now and I’ll introduce you?”

Obviously, I said yes.

So we rolled over, and I got to meet Phillip. We had a great chat, and it turned out that not only did our product and brand fit with what he was looking for, but the fact that I live just a mile away made it even better. After I brought over some kit for him to test, we decided to move forward.

I’m really grateful for this opportunity to grow Vanta in a new way and for Phillip’s willingness to take a chance on such a new brand.
